Convert JPG to PNG in bulk, free

Add up to 10 JPG photos and get PNG files back in seconds. They are converted inside your browser, so nothing is uploaded and there is no sign-up.

Each file can be up to 25 MB. When you are done, download them one by one or as a single ZIP.

Features

What you get

Ten files at once
Add a batch, convert it with one click, and download a ZIP. Each file can be up to 25 MB.
Nothing uploaded
The browser does the conversion on your own device, so your photos never reach a server.
Every pixel kept
PNG stores the image exactly as the JPG shows it. The picture is the same size and looks the same.
Names kept
holiday.jpg becomes holiday.png. If two files would end up with the same name, the second gets a number so neither is lost. You can also add your own text to the start or end of every name.
Before and after
Press Compare on a finished file and slide between the JPG and the PNG. Download one file, or a whole batch as a ZIP.
Free
No sign-up, no watermark, and no limit on how many batches you convert.

How it works

Convert in four steps

  1. Add your JPGs

Choose files or drag them onto the page. .jpg and .jpeg both work.

  2. Check the list

Each file shows its name, its size in pixels and its file size. Remove any you added by mistake.

  3. Convert

Press the convert button. Each file shows its new PNG name and size when it is done.

  4. Download

Save one PNG, or take the whole batch as a ZIP.

Uses

When PNG is the better format

Logos and graphics

Flat colours and sharp edges look cleaner in PNG, which does not add the blotchy artefacts JPG can leave around text.

Screenshots and diagrams

A screenshot saved as JPG can look fuzzy near letters. Converting it to PNG stops it getting worse each time it is edited and saved.

Design and print software

Some tools ask for PNG. Converting first saves a failed upload.

Starting a cut-out

PNG is the format that can hold a see-through background. Convert here, then remove the background in an editor.

Choose PNG when you need exact pixels or transparency. Choose JPG when small file size matters more. To go the other way, use the PNG to JPG converter.

How the conversion works

Your browser opens the JPG, draws it on a canvas at its original size, and saves that canvas as a PNG. All of this happens on your own computer. The file is never sent anywhere, which is why there is nothing to wait for besides the conversion itself.
